🎃 It’s Spooky Season! Meet the Founders in This Halloween Q&A 🎃
Q: Have you ever MADE your Halloween costume?
A (Amy): My entire childhood my four brothers and I made all of our costumes! That’s one reason I love Halloween so much. There was huge anticipation around conceptualizing our costumes and then bringing our visions to life. We would make them together and help each other also. It was great bonding time.
Q: What was your favorite costume you've worn?
A (Amy): In high school I was Gene Simmons from KISS and my best friend was Paul Stanley. Our costumes were entirely handmade and used items. We worked together at Target and went to work dressed like KISS. Everyone loved it.
Q: What's your most favorite Halloween candy?
A (Amy): I think I will surprise everyone by choosing Milky Way. But sometimes you need old reliable, and they are delicious every time.
A (Jenn): I'm definitely trading all my Milky Ways to Amy for her O.G. Reese's Peanut Butter Cups - always and forever baby.
Q: What's your least favorite Halloween candy?
A (Amy): 'Good & Plenty'. How is that even “candy?”
A (Jenn): 'Good & Plenty' and/or 'Bit O'honey.' Legit old people candy, i.e., candy at a time when candy was defined as anything with sugar in it.
Q: What's your favorite horror movie?
A (Amy): Friday the 13th. I like campy.
Q: What's a horror movie that would still freak you out if you watched it today?
A (Jenn): Hereditary was so awful that the first dramatic scene will live in my nightmares rent free for years to come. Jeepers Creepers is a close second.
Q: Would you rather spend Halloween in a haunted house or remote cabin in the woods?
A (Amy): Remote cabin in the woods. There are more places to hide and I’m very comfortable around trees. I’ve never seen a bad guy climb a tree!
A (Jenn): I'd take a remote cabin any day of the week (except Halloween). For Halloween I'm going full on haunted mansion. Bring on the creaky staircases, eyeball-moving-portraits, and specters floating down dark hallways; I'm here for it. It's one day of the year and I want to be scared.
Q: Name something you wouldn't want to run into in a dark forest or in an abandoned building?
A (Amy): Definitely a creepy doll. I can handle ghosts, but dolls with those dead, glassy eyes? Hard pass.
A (Jenn): Anyone (anything) wielding chainsaw. Hearing that thing start up in the dark? Bye.
Q: In a zombie apocalypse what's your weapon of choice?
A (Amy): An axe. They’re practical, efficient, and also great for chopping wood. Plus my arms would get way buff from swinging it around.
A (Jenn): Probably a pack of immortal zombie killing dogs - besides protecting my family from zombies, I'd also have DOGS THAT NEVER DIE, and isn't that the dream?
Q: If you were the villain/monster in a horror movie, what kind of creepy animal friend would you have?
A (Amy): I’d have a giant tarantula that sat on my shoulder. It's unsettling enough to freak people out but also oddly fascinating, which is totally my style.
A (Jenn): Probably a raven because it would be intimidating to have a bird that large and also he'd be able to fly around and spy on my mortal enemies.
Q: Vampire or Werewolf?
A (Amy): Vampire, of course. They’re stylish (not afraid of a colored cravat), well educated, and eternal - right up my alley.
A (Jenn): Vampire, but specifically Alexander Skarsgard in True Blood. Enough said.
Q: Finish the sentence: “If it’s flavored Pumpkin Spice, I’m…”
A (Amy): ...in line, probably twice. Pumpkin spice life, forever.
A (Jenn): getting a 'grande'.
